The FAD Awards for Architecture and Interior Design 2020, one of the most important awards in Architecture and Interior Design at European level, have selected the exhibition SORRES X. UN VAIXELL MEDIEVAL. in the category of Ephemeral Interventions, whose finalists and selected works were presented yesterday, Thursday 7th May 2020.The jury that has assessed the works has chosen 27 finalists and 49 projects selected in the different categories from the total of 484 works presented.
Les Sorres X is a project of recovery, conservation and musealization, carried out for the Maritime Museum of Barcelona, the Center of Subaquatic Archaeology of Catalonia of the Catalan Government and the Museum of Archaeology of Catalonia.
The exhibition “Sorres.Un Vaixell medieval” project selected in this last edition, can be visited at the Museu Marítim de Barcelona and can be visited until February 2022.
A museum project that allows the dialogue between the medieval wreck and the city wall of the same period, a dialogue between the architecture of the sea and the architecture of the city of the fourteenth century, and that rests on the bed of gravel that “enters from the outside”, leaving the wreck as it was found in the 90s. The rest is an agitated sea of 15 mm sheet metal, naval construction material, graphic support, drilled to house showcases, creating gills that house lighting, folding like protective waves…
